Classes at
The Cottage
Enrichment sessions at The Cottage at Jubilation Farms are outdoor elective farm classes for homeschool families with kids ages 5+.
Our classes focus on the seasonal changes on the farm, provide ample opportunities for learning about life on a real farm, as well as farm and nature-based science, art, music, junk journaling, and animal husbandry. Cottage Classes are not school and we do not teach typical school subjects.
Classes are designed to provide hands-on experience in animal care, develop responsibility, and provide an immersive farm experience. Classes at the Cottage meet weekly throughout the school year, which provides students with the opportunity to develop friendships with others.
Children who enroll in our Cottage Classes will have the opportunity to care for their own class chickens, collect eggs, help with watering the goats, sheep, and pigs, as well as feeding the animals and helping to haul hay.
Students will also plant a community garden to be shared among other Jubilation Farms families.
Mixed age Enrichment
Tuesday or Thursday
Ages 5-11
9am-noon
Cost: $200 per student per month
Our Mixed-Age Enrichment days are designed to support curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning through hands-on experiences on the farm.
Children of different ages learn alongside one another through shared activities, outdoor exploration, and gentle learning blocks.
Younger children receive additional guidance and support as needed, while older children are encouraged to lead, model, and grow in confidence.
This mixed-age structure allows siblings to attend together and creates a natural, community-centered learning environment.

Pre-Teen & Teen Enrichment
Wednesdays Ages 12+
9am-noon
Cost: $200 per student per month
Our Preteen and Teen Enrichment days are designed for students who are ready for deeper thinking, growing independence, and meaningful engagement through hands-on, project-based learning.
Learning takes place outdoors and in our covered pavilion, where students participate in longer learning blocks, collaborative projects, and guided discussions that encourage critical thinking, responsibility, and real-world skill development.
This program does not follow a traditional classroom model. There are no desks, rigid class periods, or lecture-based instruction.
Instead, students learn through active participation, shared work, and intentional experiences that blend creativity, inquiry, and practical application. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, contribute thoughtfully to the group, and develop confidence in their ideas and abilities.
Our mixed-age teen environment allows younger adolescents to learn alongside older students, benefiting from peer mentorship, shared projects, and a strong sense of community. Siblings may attend together, and students are supported in growing academically, socially, and personally within a respectful, relationship-centered setting.
This program is best suited for students who are comfortable learning in an outdoor environment, who enjoy hands-on work and discussion, and who are able to engage flexibly rather than expecting a rigid or traditional classroom structure.
BEHAVIOR Expectations
The Cottage is a small, outdoor, relationship-centered learning environment on a real, working farm.
Because students work closely with one another, with tools, and with live animals, safety and respect are essential to participation — not optional.
We believe children grow best when given freedom within clear boundaries. Our goal is not strict control, but a calm and predictable environment where every student feels safe to learn and explore.
To participate successfully, students must be able to:
-
Treat people, animals, plants, tools, and property gently and respectfully
-
Follow adult directions immediately when safety is involved
-
Stay within designated areas and remain with the group
-
Use appropriate language and self-control in a mixed-age setting
-
Participate without ongoing disruption to the learning environment
Mistreatment of animals, unsafe behavior, aggression, or repeated disruption cannot be accommodated in this setting.
Staff will always guide and redirect first. However, if a student’s behavior compromises safety or the well-being of the group, a parent will be contacted for early pickup. Continued concerns may result in dismissal from the program.
Because we operate on a working farm, mistreatment of animals is an immediate dismissal from the program and future programs.
Enrollment at The Cottage indicates family agreement with these expectations and partnership in supporting them.
The Cottage is not equipped to serve students who require constant one-to-one behavioral supervision.
More Things to Know
Adult Participation is Optional. While we are primarily a drop-off program, parents are always welcome to join, especially in our Mixed-Age classes.
Weather
We are an outdoor program and operate in all weather conditions, unless there is a threat of severe weather. Students are required to have proper rain jackets and boots, as well as cold weather gear to participate. It is the adult's responsibility to watch the weather and make sure their child is dressed appropriately for the weather. Children who are not dressed appropriately will not be allowed to participate until their adult brings them the proper clothing.

Communication
If you have registered and paid for the first month of classes, your child is registered and their spot is held. We do not send a confirmation email for this.
We will send out an email a few weeks before the start of class with important information. Please make sure you read this email. We will send out another reminder email the week before classes begin.
Office hours are 9am-3pm M-TH. We will not take calls, emails, or texts outside of this timeframe unless it is a true emergency. All communication is to be made via email at jubilationfarms@gmail.com
Enrollment Fees are NON-REFUNDABLE
Enrollment at The Cottage is intentionally limited and materials are purchased in advance based on committed enrollment. Fees cover upfront costs such as supplies, staffing, insurance, and preparations that begin before a session starts and continue regardless of attendance.
For this reason, enrollment fees are non-refundable once a session has begun. Refunds are only considered in true extenuating circumstances, such as an unexpected family relocation due to work or the death of a parent.
Changes in interest, schedule, or personal preference do not qualify for refunds.
This policy allows us to plan responsibly, honor our commitments, and offer thoughtfully prepared experiences for all participants.
By enrolling my child in sessions at The Cottage, I understand that there is no refund if I choose to unenroll.
