Field Trips & Learning Tours

What to Expect

Our farm tours are designed to be relaxed, welcoming, and rooted in real life on a working farm. Each visit is guided at a gentle pace, allowing curiosity and conversation to lead the experience rather than a rigid schedule.

During your visit, groups can expect:

  • A guided walk through the farm’s outdoor spaces, animals, and gardens

  • Age-appropriate explanations and storytelling woven naturally into the tour

  • Opportunities for observation, questions, and hands-on interaction when appropriate

  • An emphasis on noticing, wondering, and engaging with the season

Every group is a little different, and visits naturally adapt to the ages and interests of those attending.

What This Is

  • A calm, outdoor learning experience centered on observation and real-world connection

  • A guided visit that encourages curiosity, conversation, and hands-on discovery

  • An opportunity for children to engage with animals, plants, and seasonal rhythms in an unhurried way

What This Is Not

  • A structured class or formal lesson

  • A drop-off program or childcare

  • A fast-paced or entertainment-driven experience

A Few Helpful Things to Know

  • Tours are outdoors and weather-dependent

  • Comfortable clothing is recommended

  • Closed-toe shoes are required (mud boots are highly recommended)

  • Restroom access is available through the garage as needed

  • Adults are expected to supervise their own children during the visit

  • All participants ages 3 and up are included in pricing

Our goal is not to rush, perform, or pack in information—but to offer a meaningful, grounded experience that feels calm, connected, and memorable.

Policies

Confirmations & Headcounts

Final headcounts must be submitted no later than 48 hours prior to your scheduled field trip. This allows us to prepare appropriately for your group.

On the day of your visit, we are unable to accommodate last-minute additional guests beyond the confirmed headcount.

Parent & Chaperone Policy

Please remind all parents and chaperones to arrive 5 minutes early, as tours begin promptly at the scheduled time.

All parent chaperones must be included in your group’s registration. Attendance will be checked at arrival, and all names must match the group reservation provided by the Group Leader.

Payments & Group Check-In

For the safety and clarity of all visits:

  • We cannot accept separate payments from individual parents or additional guests.

  • All participants ages 3 and up must be included in the group reservation.

  • The Group Leader is responsible for checking in the entire group and submitting one payment for the full headcount.

This policy ensures accurate attendance, smooth check-in, and a safe experience for everyone involved.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to welcoming your group to the farm.

Farm Rules & Expectations

We are grateful to welcome groups to our farm and ask for your help in keeping it a calm, safe, and respectful environment for everyone.

Supervision

  • This is not a drop-off experience.

  • Parents and chaperones are expected to actively supervise their children at all times, not observe from a distance.

  • Group leaders are responsible for ensuring that all adults understand and uphold these expectations.

Respect for Animals & Space

  • Running, chasing, shouting at, or startling animals is not permitted.

  • Loud yelling, screaming, or making animal noises toward animals is not allowed.

  • Animals are living beings and are sensitive to noise and sudden movement.

Group Conduct

  • Demonstrations and explanations require attentive listening.

  • Children who repeatedly disrupt the group experience may be asked to step away with an adult.

  • If behavior becomes unsafe or disruptive and cannot be redirected, the visit may be ended early for the safety of the group and animals. In such cases, refunds will not be issued.

Our Shared Goal

Our aim is to offer a meaningful, calm, and engaging experience for all visitors. These guidelines help ensure that children, adults, and animals can interact in a way that is respectful, safe, and enjoyable.

Thank you for helping us create a positive experience for everyone.

Zero Tolerance for Animal Mistreatment

The safety and well-being of our animals is our highest priority.

  • Any behavior that intentionally frightens, chases, strikes, throws objects at, or otherwise mistreats an animal will result in immediate removal from the activity.

  • This includes repeated yelling at animals, making loud or aggressive noises toward them, or disregarding instructions around animal interaction.

  • If unsafe or disrespectful behavior toward animals continues after redirection, the visit may be ended immediately for the entire group.

For the safety of our animals and guests, no refunds will be issued if a visit is ended early due to violations of this policy.

We appreciate your partnership in teaching children to interact with animals in ways that are calm, respectful, and safe.

Weather Policy

Our farm tours take place outdoors and are weather-dependent.

  • In the event of severe weather (lightning, high winds, heavy rain, extreme heat, or unsafe conditions), we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the tour for safety reasons.

  • If we must cancel due to weather, groups will be offered the option to reschedule or receive a refund.

  • Light rain, cool temperatures, or typical seasonal weather do not automatically result in cancellation. Please plan accordingly and dress for the weather.

Weather-related decisions are made with the safety of both guests and animals in mind.
